WEEK ZERO MINGLE - Party Games Edition

Rise and shine, little deadlings. It's a beautiful day here in Hell and you're not gonna get anywhere by sleeping in all morning. After a rocky weekend, you may be finding yourself still trying to make sense of everything. Like…you're dead. Isn't that still so crazy? Wow!

But don't wallow about it. It's time to embrace your new afterlife and take a look at the world around you. You can look outside the windows of your dormitory and see that the reddish sun has risen a little higher in the sky. There's no cheerful sound of birds chirping or anything of the sort. You only have each other right now.

Venturing downstairs, you'll find that the front door has finally unlocked and you're able to step outside. The air is hot, a blast of warm air directly smacking you in the face as your feet step onto the dry, barren wasteland stretching ahead of you. Little cracks and fissures appear under your feet as you walk, glowing crimson as the heat follows after you. But it's worth exploring, don't you think?

For any of you who immediately make a break for the dock, you'll be happy to hear that there isn't a ferry at the moment. You can see the faint outlines of islands in the distance, but you have no chance of heading out to any of them just yet. Boo. Oh well. There's plenty of places to look around on this island. You didn't exactly get a grand tour yesterday, so take the opportunity to look around and get to know the lay of the land.

Maybe you're the chatty type who wants to get to know everyone else around you. Or maybe you're the type who just wants to mind their own damn business and expects everyone else to, too. No matter what though, as you go through your daily activities over the course of the week you will find that on occasion you will be compelled to tell a lie or spread a rumor about another new resident. You might tell a stranger your new roommate has cute underwear with little bunnies on it. Perhaps you'll tell someone else that the person across the street was programmed with the most tragic backstory on account of being a cyborg. There's no limit to how real or outlandish these stories are.

It almost seems as though it's simply meant to be an annoyance.

Well, everyone has something they like, right? Tell me about something you like. Something you...maybe would rather be doing right now instead of sitting here watching everyone and talking to me.

[Because talking about interests is a good way to know what kind of person one is, pretty much!]

I'd rather be doing pretty much anything.

But ideally Gardening.

[Filbo pauses like he didn't expect that particular hobby. It's a pleasant surprise, though. Somehow, gardening and demons seem concepts that wouldn't mingle together, yet here we are!]

Do you have a garden here in hell?

Yeah. Plus I look after other people's gardens sometimes.

Would it be... [He tilts his head a little before his head buzzing with alcohol just kind of suppresses anything that hints this may be a tad too casual] Would it be alright to see it someday? I kinda wanna see what you managed to make grow in a place like this with your skills.

[It's both curiosity at that and interest in what Rosé is capable of doing, yeah]

I know you're just asking to be polite, but it's not such a big deal that you have to say "someday." It's just gardening, and flowers want to be seen.

Aw, come on, it isn't just gardening! It's something you have been growing! That makes it something one would want to see. I do am interested.

[Uf, the things I write. He's so painfully earnest, I'm sorry, Rosé. Filbo is the kind of person who, when two people disappeared on a deserted island and were presumed gone altogether from the island if not dead, he still kept cleaning their hut just in case they returned. Perhaps if he were sober he'd a tad self-conscious about saying this to someone he barely knows, really]

God, fine, you're so embarrassing.

[ he's sweet, rosé is just a bitch. but either way, they take out their phone and turn it to him to show him some photos of various very nice gardens. for the most part, the flowers are recognizable! ]

Filbo looks at the pictures, his eyes twinkling with interest. He really is so embarrassing, haha]

It's...honestly it's pretty mesmerizing. You're pretty good at this, Rosé.

I literally didn't say it was a good thing. Like, is being embarrassing ever good? It's not.

[ rosé lets filbo look for a while because they're proud of their flowers. but once filbo has had some time, they pull their phone back. ]

Yeah, I know. It would be an insult to the flowers if I was bad at taking care of them.

[Yup, definitely reminds him of someone he knew. It's not a happy thought, truthfully. Please don't call him a squeeb, Rosé, he thinks for a moment]

How long did it take you to make it look like this? I mean, it can't be easy, being in hell and all. [He sighs] Eternal damnation and healthy plants don't seem to, uh, mix together as concepts...

I don't know, seasons here don't exactly make it easy to keep track. But - yeah, it's impressive that I pulled it off.

Ah, come on, it's plainly obvious. I can't be the only one other than you that has noticed gardening and growing all that wasn't easy.

[Perhaps it's because he appreciates hard work, being someone who tries to give his best. Seeing what others can pull off is interesting to him]

[Filbo, don't encourage the meanness by just accepting it. Sorry, he's a bit of an enabler. I kind of have fond memories when last time I played him he was talking to someone and she said she wanted to make a mural of revenge with blood, and he just...called it unsanitary and then began suggesting on what wall of the room they were in to do it, hah.

Filbo takes another shot of reasonably decent liquor, looking pretty content]

Would it be alright to see your garden--your gardens--uh...whatever number of gardens you have, would it be alright to see it someday in person?

Most of them are public areas so unless you do something incredibly annoying and get yourself banned, sure. You can go see them, sometime.
