[ there isn't a discernable pattern to it, there are just many bruises. they are large, so it's hard to necessarily discern where one ends and another begins, but if he looks closely at the darkest spots to try and guess, it does seem like the bruises are all consistently large. they look like fresh bruises, not older than the night of death.
