Well, that depends. What's your criteria of a sandwich? For the standard dictionary definition - "an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with meat, cheese, or other filling between them, eaten as a light meal", then a hot dog - in which the standard definition of a hot dog is "a frankfurter, especially one served hot in a long, soft roll and topped with various condiments", could or could not be a sandwich depending on the condiments. If you said, for example, that a sandwich requires two slices of bread, then a hot dog would not be a sandwich, because a hot dog tends to come on a hinged loaf - one piece of bread that has been folded, if you'll excuse my joke, "hot dog style", and therefore doesn't fit the two pieces of bread criterion. Neither would a pita pocket, or a hoagie - either they are unique creations or subsets of sandwiches, in which case a hot dog could be either of those.

Oh, this is fun! I like this game.
