So, there are basically three phases of the game. There's the Roll Phase, which I mentioned with the dice. You roll eight Elemental Dice and can reroll the dice you don't want if you'd like, but only once per turn. You're gonna wanna be thinking about what attacks or buffs you're gonna make, but balance that with having a spread of all the elements you could use because you never know when your card might get switched on you. Then there's the Action Phase, which is where the action happens ... obviously. This is when you play your character cards, make attacks and use action cards. Then the End Phase where card effects happen, and then players draw two cards for the next turn. So each turn you can go until you basically run out of dice, or forfeit - if you forfeit, you get to go first on the next round after rolling your dice.
It basically just repeats until one of you loses. You get Energy for Elemental Bursts by attacking with a Normal Attack or Elemental Skill. So any move you can make under the action phase falls into one of two categories, combat actions, and completing a single Combat Action passes the turn to your enemy. And then Fast Actions, you can use a card and then continue your turn. So if you want to use fast actions, make sure to do them first, or you'll pass your turn over - and there's some cards that can turn longer actions into fast actions, so you can do more in a round.
