WEEK TWO - TRIAL

Hello, deadlings. Wow. Just...wow.
You may have been wondering what you could possibly do in the aftermath of yesterday's beek. Your demons weren't entirely helpful, and it seems that there were no answers to be found. But on Saturday morning at 11am, you'll soon hear a sound coming from the dock. There's a large ferry waiting for you, and even if you resist you'll eventually find yourself compelled to climb aboard and set off on a short voyage. The islands around you look fairly blurry, but you don't go very far before you stop at a slab of land with two large buildings stationed. The Execution Bar is locked tight and you won't be able to head in that direction. Instead, once again, your feet navigate you to the building on the right as the door creaks open.
Inside is a bar. It's dimly lit in several places, but bright enough for you to see each other and navigate without running into the furniture. Tables and chairs are scattered around in front of the bar counter, and the floor is far less sticky than the bar on the other island. Stained glass windows decorate the walls depicting images of humanity's suffering, and concrete crosses and tombstones are gathered in the corners. The bar itself is fully stocked with all types of alcohol and mixers, along with an array of bar food to help keep your energy up.
At the head of the room lounging among the statues of saints and the Blessed Virgin are Blue Hawaiian, Cosmopolitan and Midori.
Above them hangs another hand-painted banner, sloppily thrown together.
12pm - 9pm
Vote or suffer eternal damnation
You can try to leave, but the door to the bar has been locked. All of the windows are reinforced, and there isn't another way out. You've been called here for one reason...let the misery begin!
Hello, and welcome to your third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about this week's murder! Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure to read this page carefully and that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST).
Good luck, and have fun!

more notably, however, is that his hair is bloody and matted around the top where his head has been bashed in. there are some glass shards in his face, too. ]
no subject
he will just reach down ig with some gloves on because who knows where this body has been and will actually lift the eyelids with his thumbs briefly, trying to kind of be detached about it. anything weird about how they look?
he'll check the face (nose, lips, mouth inside) and then work his way down to the blood on his chest. is there a shirt? can he open it and look at the source? ]
no subject
working his way down, he will also some bruising around the neck.
looking at the chest, there is blood on it! quite a bit on the shirt, and yes, there's a shirt. however, when he removes the shirt he will find that there's no blood on the actual body itself. however, he will find what looks like bruising across and centered in the chest. ]
no subject
okay first of all what is that he is going to (unfortunately) smell whatever it is on the body's breath. i hope it's fish.
he will examine the bruising on the neck as he goes down, and he might measure the bruising with his hands. does it look hand-shaped? or are the bruises more likely to be from something like a belt or a rope? chain? etc?
re: the blood on the chest, yuckyyyyy, but he will eyeball the bruising here. does it look like what lu bixing described as being on nameless' body that he examined first thing during trial? (he will pop over to the other body to check himself if he needs to in order to compare.) ]
no subject
it is not a fishy scent! the body does kind of smell a little salty, but as for the mouth scent it smells more like alcohol.
it's a little hard to tell what the neck bruising looks like, but they could be considered more similar to hand shape than thinner like a belt or a rope. they are around the neck itself.
comparing it lu bixing's report, the bruises look to be smaller and closer together than the ones found on nameless's body. they're more focused around the ribcage and upper part of the body. ]
no subject
alcohol? haha wow that was not what he expected and that's going to get him to frown very fucking deeply. oh buddy... he will close this body's eyes and mouth and just gently cradle the head for a moment before leaving that be for now (he will return to it for one last thing later as a note to myself)
hmm if it were similar-to-hand-shaped... would this hand be smaller or bigger than jingheng's? or similar to his hand size...? idk asks many silly questions!
alright, so smaller and closer together. he will examine these a little more closely. are they connected in a trail? does it look like something wrapped around him this time? this is so bizarre hello??? do they look like. they COULD be tentacles? or chain links? or maybe even some sort of bandolier-like length of something? he's racking his brain!!!!!!
after that, though, he will examine his arms, checking up and down both... and he will look for that bracelet that uriel mentioned. ]
no subject
anyway, looking at those, the hypothetical hand would be much smaller than jingheng's!
looking at the chest bruises, it doesn't like. look like they wrap around at all. it looks more like contact pressure all clustered together, and as he's examining he may notice that a small part of the body's chest shifts with the slightest amount of pressure. it's hard to discern a specific shape though.
the arms have shards of glass all over them. there's a black ribbon on his right wrist. and there's a red bracelet on his left. ]
no subject
but ah there it is. the black ribbon he remembers. and the red bracelet just as uriel said.
there's a soft breath for a moment as he looks down at this... who mess and then takes his cigarette out of his mouth, ashing it and putting it out off to the side in his empty drink glass. he will check both hands, not touching them at first. how are they positioned after death? does it look like he was clutching at anything or are they in repose? ]
I'm sorry.
[ he will shift his investigation to go ahead and examine where the chest shifts. does it feel... like his ribs are broken or his sternum is crushed (thinking of it as a man who has broken and felt his own broken ribs on multiple occasions unfortunately).
and re: the clustered contact pressure marks, does it look like a cluster of someone or something pressing down with their fingertips? or their knuckles even (like punching down onto his chest?) ]
no subject
examining the chest further and doing a more thorough investigation of it, it does seem more like his ribs are broken with the way the ribs move. terrible for everyone involved. the bruising in the clusters looks bigger than fingertips or knuckles, more of a flat, wider shape that fans out at the tips. ]
no subject
he's stumped and will check to see if it is shaped more like... a palm pressing down (only) instead of fingertips/knuckles/fingers idk im grabbin at straws. my last look. otherwise he's not going to linger over it, he will just bring it to everyone later and like. maybe something will come up that we can hopefully compare the marks to (or not! screams!)
he will carefully turn nameless over to check his back as well for these same marks and/or anything else that might appear on his back at all, checking shoulders, lower back, etc. any other bruising or scratch marks or anything.
he'll shift back up to his hair finally and will manipulate it carefully to have a look at the bashing wound. does it look the same as the other body's if he goes to compare? does it still take up the entire top of his head per the report? ]
no subject
looking at the back, he will find there's shards of glass on him but there don't appear any other marks, bruises or wounds. looking back at the head, it does look about the same as the other body's. it's bashed in, bloody and very big coming from the top. ]
no subject
sweet nameless........ frowns so much. he will turn him back over once again (i'm sorry for the flipping and flopping but it is very gentle, jingheng is strong). but also like on that note from above that was a joke
if he places his hands on nameless' chest in a cpr-esque fashion.
do the bruises line up? as though someone tried to crush the sternum/ribs during cpr? ]
no subject
when jingheng places his hands on nameless's chest in a cpr-esque fashion...
...they do line up. his hands match up pretty damn well. ]
no subject
and then very carefully lay nameless' hands over his chest and just. smooth his hair back a little. ]
Maybe accidents do happen.
[ he will just... find something to cover this body up with very gently, whatever is available, and will pick up his drink to go report back. ]</smalL.
no subject
could the hypothetical hand marks on the neck potentially match in size to the marks on the chest or are they too differently shaped to tell apart (just bc i know they are two completely different hand shapes!!!!) ]
no subject
no subject
if he takes nameless' hand and puts it around his (nameless') throat... could it potentially be a match. just. curious. ]
no subject
haha yeah. ]
no subject
i love u tho rly ]
