WEEK TWO - TRIAL

Hello, deadlings. Wow. Just...wow.

You may have been wondering what you could possibly do in the aftermath of yesterday's beek. Your demons weren't entirely helpful, and it seems that there were no answers to be found. But on Saturday morning at 11am, you'll soon hear a sound coming from the dock. There's a large ferry waiting for you, and even if you resist you'll eventually find yourself compelled to climb aboard and set off on a short voyage. The islands around you look fairly blurry, but you don't go very far before you stop at a slab of land with two large buildings stationed. The Execution Bar is locked tight and you won't be able to head in that direction. Instead, once again, your feet navigate you to the building on the right as the door creaks open.

Inside is a bar. It's dimly lit in several places, but bright enough for you to see each other and navigate without running into the furniture. Tables and chairs are scattered around in front of the bar counter, and the floor is far less sticky than the bar on the other island. Stained glass windows decorate the walls depicting images of humanity's suffering, and concrete crosses and tombstones are gathered in the corners. The bar itself is fully stocked with all types of alcohol and mixers, along with an array of bar food to help keep your energy up.

At the head of the room lounging among the statues of saints and the Blessed Virgin are Blue Hawaiian, Cosmopolitan and Midori.

Above them hangs another hand-painted banner, sloppily thrown together.

You can try to leave, but the door to the bar has been locked. All of the windows are reinforced, and there isn't another way out. You've been called here for one reason...let the misery begin!

Hello, and welcome to your third trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about this week's murder! Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure to read this page carefully and that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST).

well, Uriel will inspect the two glasses on the counter. are they empty? or is there still some liquid in them? if there is, what color are both drinks? otherwise, she will give both the glasses a sniff. ]

anyway uh persephone goes to check out the other mystery glass. why are you here now......... she will also sniff. ]

[ the drag marks seem to stop and start every couple of feet or so, strangely enough. the puddles seem to follow the drag marks. they and the puddles seem to start in the general direction of the aquarium. the blood drops sort of follow a similar trail of heading off into the tunnel, from the bar, but seem to be going towards the residential district...

the drag marks continue on inside the bar and inside of it seem to change shape...?

the glasses on the bar have a little bit of liquid left at the bottom! both liquids look kind of transparent. one smells a little bit like mint. the other one doesn't have a strong smell. the one that doesn't have a strong smell also has a little bit of a red smear around the rim of the glass.

the persephone glass... smells a little bit like orange. the dregs are bluer than the ones on the bar. but when she takes it to sniff, she'll find out that the glass is... wet. :( ]

Looks like the blood trail goes towards the residential district...

[so they both seem to come from the aquarium, with the water-drag-marks changing / maybe stopping in here, and the blood trail continuing through here, towards the residential district?

what kind of shape do the drag marks change into? do they keep going? zel will keep following this trail.]

Good to note. I found a drink that smells a bit minty... the other one is a bit harder to say.

[ would she be able to smell the red smear.. is it metallic? like blood? or some other kind of scent? or is the smell of alcohol too overpowering to be able to tell?

for a quick moment, she will take a close-up photo of these two drinks side by side and angle to snap a shot of the red smear just in case. but this is definitely evidence to take back. she has white gloves on with her uniform so she's handling all of this with gloves on, don't worry.

after that, I assume enough of a little bit of liquid means Uriel can go ahead and just. sip whatever is left of the one that smells a bit like mint. i'm sorry to everyone. ]

[ she was about to make a comment on the drink but then she looks over and sees uriel drinking. oh n ]

Oh that's ironic I think that might be the drink that makes you lose your self-control.

[ the blood seems to start here and goes to the residential district/aquarium general tunnel direction, sorry!!! as for the drag marks, inside the bar they seem to turn into....... footprints. huh. That's Normal.

looking closer, uriel will be able to see that the red smear seems a little like a lipstain! hopefully she doesn't put her mouth on that when she takes a swig. uriel is dead.



just kidding, if she's had it this week, it just tastes like inner peace. wowie.


as for persephone, the entire glass is wet. like someone was holding it wetly. ew! looking at the glass, there seems to be a strange smuge on it as well. on top of it being gross and wet. ]

Zelgadis stands and glances over just in time to see Uriel drinking, and at Persephone's comment...]

There's a lip stain on one of the glasses. [ in a "the fuck" voice. ] --If it doesn't happen here, it's going to happen back at the trial anyways.

[ oh, well, so much for self-control. you know that would probably be good to have because i guess now Uriel is truly saying "fuck it" and sipping the OTHER GLASS too, all while avoiding the part where the lipstain is. this was a mistake.

also just to be sure, is the lipstain on the minty drink or the one without a strong smell?? ]

[ the state of this glass is concerning BUT ALSO THIS BINCH OF AN ANGEL IS MORE CONCERNING... she makes sure not to knock over the wet glass as she runs over and tries to wrest the mystery glass away from uriel?? girl help. how much of a fight does uriel put up... either way, she will relay to zel: ]

F-for the record, the drink on the ground is the persuasive one. So—maybe the murderer drank it and convinced Nameless to... I don't know, just sit there while they went to town on him? What about the water stains?

anyway the other two are crying at uriel's life choices. i need you guys to know blue hawaiian is muffling a laugh in the background ]

[ i'm sorry persephone, she's fighting. she wants to drink this Bitch like her life depends on it. it's been done. and it's okay modly, you were predicting the future because Uriel has now tasted both. ]

Zelgadis, grab the glass before she gets it!

[ blue is bent in half laughing at this mess. sorry. they're unhelpful.

anyway uriel is in reach of the glass... the wet glass... but persephone successfully cucks her for now. will zelgadis take the drink away or will uriel roll higher next turn. who knows. ]

[Zelgadis will try to grab the wet glass and hold it up high. He's the tall one here, this should work, right?]

Let's hurry this up so we can get out of here.

[Looking once more at the floor... The drag marks turn into footprints. Do those footprints lead anywhere? Do they stop at the counter where the drinks are at any point? Or where this third glass was, on the floor?]

[ it works perfectly, good job. successfully has cucked the archangel from more lack of control mistakes.

though, the bear hug does make her tear up, and maybe she's crying now. so much for keeping herself together. she will just scoop up Persephone into a bigger firm hug. this is fine. ]

I'll- kill whoever hurt Micah...!

[ this is a mess. i hope someone else gets those other two glasses because they have been abandoned by Uriel. ]

[ oh, uh, she was not expecting the turns to be tabled. uriel is easily able to lift her, and on instinct, she doesn't fight back. instead, she just pats the other goddess on the shoulder, trying to calm her down... ]

H-hey, keep it together, we need to get back to the others and figure out what happened! Otherwise we'll never know who it was, and they'll... they'll still be out there.

[ then, from over uriel's shoulder, she looks over to blue hawaiian witheringly. ]

If you've had enough giggles, can you get the other glasses? Please.

You have enough hands between all three of you.

and yeah the footprints do go around the bar and where the glass on the ground was. teehee. ]

[Do the footprints lead out of the bar again, or do they stop in here?]

Zelgadis sighs.]

[Now that Persephone has her distracted with hugs. He'll grab a tray from the bar and load all three glasses on it.

[ fortunate that Uriel is preoccupied with holding Persephone, the bar remains as how it is.

but thank you for your service zel and unservice blue. ]

[ persephone just. gives zel a very tired smile as she continues patting uriel.

and then gives the bar one more cursory glance in case there is something else here other than one remnant of a drink and two now empty glasses. ]
