WEEK THREE - TRIAL

Hello, deadlings. We're right back at it, huh?

You may have been wondering what you could possibly do in the aftermath of yesterday's beek. Your demons weren't entirely helpful, and it seems that there were no answers to be found. But on Saturday morning at 11am, you'll soon hear a sound coming from the dock. There's a large ferry waiting for you, and even if you resist you'll eventually find yourself compelled to climb aboard and set off on a short voyage. The islands around you look fairly blurry, but you don't go very far before you stop at a slab of land with two large buildings stationed. The Execution Bar is locked tight and you won't be able to head in that direction. Instead, once again, your feet navigate you to the building on the right as the door creaks open.

Inside is a bar. It's dimly lit in several places, but bright enough for you to see each other and navigate without running into the furniture. Tables and chairs are scattered around in front of the bar counter, and the floor is far less sticky than the bar on the other island. Stained glass windows decorate the walls depicting images of humanity's suffering, and concrete crosses and tombstones are gathered in the corners. The bar itself is fully stocked with all types of alcohol and mixers, along with an array of bar food to help keep your energy up.

At the head of the room lounging among the statues of saints and the Blessed Virgin are Bloody Mary, Malibu Sunset and Rosé. With them is also a cut-out of Guy Fieri, dressed as a (sexy?) samurai with a bunch of cool flames cut out of construction paper glued to his back as he walks away from an explosion. He is also holding a sign that says "YOU CAN SOLVE IT!" However, there are now paper tears glued to his face as well.

Above them hangs another hand-painted banner, sloppily thrown together.

You can try to leave, but the door to the bar has been locked. All of the windows are reinforced, and there isn't another way out. You've been called here for one reason...let the misery begin!

Hello, and welcome to your fourth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about this week's murder! Characters will have time to examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure to read this page carefully and that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST).

it does look like his usual outfit is a little more dangerous than usual, though. since chandra is looking at zag's Swag, he'll notice glass shards on him. ]

well chandra's already fucked up so what's some more injuries. with his non-bandaged hand, he's going to remove the glass shards and place them to the side, unconcerned if he gets cut. I'M ASSUMING THESE SHARDS WERE, LIKE. ON TOP OF HIM. AND NOT STABBING INTO HIM PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WAS A FALSE ASSUMPTION chandra will not remove them if they're actually in his body

are zagreus's clothes torn in any way? does he have pockets, because if so chandra is going through them.

but either way, he's just. going to strip zagreus of his top, pretty sure no god here cares about modesty. anything stand out about his chest?]

[ chandra please do not bleed on top of the corpse.

the glass was on top of him! by clearing it up, he'll notice that alongside the glass shards there are bits of metal and plastic on top of him. his clothes aren't torn from whatever debris this is, but when chandra removes his top, he'll notice that there are a few light scratches on his exposed skin. there are bruises over his torso and arms, both exposed and not, but they seem a little random and aren't that big.

he does have pockets! chandra will find:

- a phone
- half of a scroll
- a pen

that's it! ]

puts zagreus's items away with the glass for evidence check. thank god there's no notebook to make me spiral this time "scroll?" NO NOTEBOOK. also puts the bits of metal and plastic away too.

are the glass + metal + plastic just on his chest area, or if chandra glances down, is there glass on his legs too?

also, nothing funky about the clothes that chandra removed? any burned parts or blood, inside or out?

if chandra uses his own hand for comparison, do they seem about the right size for the scratches? this isn't a hand size check unless you're feeling generous but are the scratches like, humanoid-sized.

where are the scratches located, specifically? on his chest? or his arms?]

[ there's a few pieces of glass/metal/plastic on his legs too, but most of it is just kind of haphazardly over him or naturally ended up in the fold of his clothes. nothing seems to have slipped in or anything.

when looking at the removed top, chandra will find that the singular shoulder has a damp spot on it.

the scratches do not seem to match a human hand. they could also be described as small cuts, and they're mostly on his exposed chest and arm. ]

[damp spot???? god. i know you're not going to be nice to me but can chandra tell from looking at the spot why is it damp. is this water.

that aside, going to move from the arms to zagreus's hands? do they look injured + bruised up like he was punching stuff + anything under his nails?]

[ it looks like water and not blood by looking. chandra can have that much.

the hands don't look injured and there's nothing under his nails! but. his right hand looks relaxed... except it is positioned in a peace sign.

what if chandra decides that actually they don't have to solve zagreus's murder. goodbye.]

chandra'll begrudgingly take a photo of the peace sign for reference, mainly because i assume this means zagreus's hand is partially clenched into a fist—chandra will try and open it up just to make sure there are no secrets within.]

anyway, chandra will... try and reposition zagreus's hand back into the peace sign. i GUESS.

he'll get to the back later, so for now, he's stripping zagreus of his pants (after removing the shards), sorry we still don't believe in privacy around here.

are his pants torn in any way / do they have any dampness i hate this. do his legs have any injuries?]

[ chandra makes an approximation peace sign. it looks less good than the original. :(

his pants are not torn! and his legs aren't injured save from some random bruises. mostly on areas like the thighs and lower leg. maybe on one knee.

there's no dampness on his legs or pants.

is chandra looking at zag's privates... since he doesn't believe in privacy... ]

[no. this could be the decisive evidence that spells out the killer's name but i refuse.

so, moving onto his boots! removing those too. hate that we have to look at feet but here we are, just confirming if there's anything funky here or if we can keep moving on.]

anyway, it's some sort of legging thing, not boots, because he has fire feeties! his feet are on fire!

like, they are still on fire. that's still a thing. ]

[ THE BOTTOM OF HIS FEET ARE FIRE BUT IT'S NORMAL THEY ARE ALWAYS LIKE THAT IT CANNOT BE SMOTHERED CHANDRA WOULD KNOW HIS FEET ALWAYS LOOK LIKE THAT ]

anyway, on the back itself there's nothing too out of place. there's some bruises on the back of his legs/arms/general back, but again they're not too big and seem a little haphazard. there's no glass/plastic/metal anywhere near here either, chandra got all of them when he was looking at the front. ]

ig also since chandra is clearly not worried about getting injured at this point he's going to check with the edge of his already burned cloak like. does zagreus's feet fire actually burn or is it just aesthetic fire. if there is no answer to this i'm sorry.]

[ there's no scratches on the back! they were all on the front, and only on his exposed skin.

his feet fire is aesthetic only. but since the body is turned around as he looks at the feeties for his fire test, there does seem to be something on the left heel of the body that's almost obscured by the fact that his foot is on obnoxious aesthetic fire. ]

can he remove this thing on the left heel or is it stuck in/on him.]

in that it is two small puncture wounds. ]

do they look like needle kind of puncture wounds or bigger than that?]

[hellscapes]

[ they're a little bigger than needle sized! but they are sort of perfect circles in a similar way. the two wounds are in a straight line with a small amount of space between them ]

i probably missed like ten pieces of vital clues but it's fine. chandra will place zagreus on his back again but he's not redressing him because that's inefficient for future checks and that's all chandra cares about.

he does stare at him for a lingering few moments, though, before he mutters something under his breath and then just. laughs. anyway goodbye.]
