WEEK FOUR - MINGLE

Rise and shine, little deadlings. The heavens shine down upon you as you live to see another day...haha.
It's not just the heavens and the stars, though. Satan's grace has shined upon you and you have more opportunities to show just why you deserve an invite to the house party.
For those of you who slept in the dorm last night, when you make your way downstairs to head off for the day you'll be greeted with a new message on the white board in the common room.
The countdown continues...
But out the door you go for another busy week. At the dock, there's a ferry happily floating on the lava and waiting for you to climb aboard. While there are still several islands in your line of vision you can't quite see, it seems as though the ferry can now shuttle you between Gehenna University, Hallow's Hollow, Subnutica, Memory Lane and a new location called Gigantica. It's difficult to miss, after all! Though should they find themselves returning to more familiar bars, they may find a new menu item awaits them!
But the best part about this week is that those pesky TVs are no longer around making their appearance and showcasing your most intimate memories. No more secrets revealed, no more falling through random holes in the ground and bruising yourself painfully, no more awkward situations you have to explain. For now it's just you and the things you want to share. Well...mostly. It's a little hard to feel confident about yourself after everything that's happened, isn't it? After all, there's always going to be someone better than you. Someone smarter. Someone more put together. Normally these things may not bother you, but this week it seems that all of those pesky little insecurities that plague your mind are amped up to ten. It isn't always daunting. Sometimes you're able to remember the things you like about yourselves, but for the most part? You might need a little convincing to break yourself out of the cycle of uncertainty.
It almost seems as though it's simply meant to be an annoyance.
And speaking of annoyances? Don't forget to check out what's new on Bicker. You can always contact each other via public Beeks or by sliding into their DMs.
Likewise, you'll find that your personal demons' accounts are live and active and despite what some of them may say, their DMs are also open.
Enjoy yourselves!
Good morning everybody, and welcome to your week four mingle! A few notes for clarity.
-This week's effect is heightened insecurities While it does not have to be a consistent thing, this week your character will experience their insecurities amplified in a way that they can't always ignore. These can be things such as lack of confidence in their strength, their talents, their relationships with other people, things they happen to dislike about themselves, things they wish they could change, things they envy from other people, etc. Feel free to be creative about what your character would personally find to be something they're insecure about.
-Audiences for the personal demons are now open! Please submit all requests under the correct weekly header.
-Please submit all PC submissions under the correct weekly header.
-The Bicker poll is public! All replies will be public, and players may also post their own Beeks in their toplevels that will be considered public. You are free to reply directly to the appropriate toplevels, or you may create Beeks in your own toplevels with other prompts. Be free.

Nice goal! [ no ]

Much obliged. Care to try your hand at one?
no subject
[ he reaches up and taps under his eyepatch. rip ] So, I think I'm gonna stick to the sidelines.
no subject
It's surprisingly little to do with sight, actually. Muscle memory plays a much greater role. Throwing knives, throwing balls; all things considered they're not so different.

[THANCRED.]

Could you really teach me how to do that? I mean, I understand it theoretically, but in action, it's a lot harder than a theorem on a paper.
[ fucking nerd ] I mean, with the balls. Or the knives!
no subject
Why not? Come over here. We'll start with the balls first — it's crowded here, and they present less concerns of accidental murder.
no subject
also this sounds kind of cool so yeah he'll come over. he will deposit his cheerleader pompoms and trot over to pick up a ball and do some sports. ]
The last thing we need here is more accidental murder. Alright, show me what to do.
no subject
[He picks up one of the balls and moves a little stiffly to stand in front of Lu Bixing, then tilts his arms back and his elbows out to show the manner in which he's got it held — one hand mostly underneath, the other supporting it from the side.]
First things first: don't think of it as throwing the ball, but rather as pushing it. This hand keeps it balanced, the other pushes it toward the basket. Following?
no subject
Oh... that makes sense. The idea is to get more of a loft than it is to get a ton of power behind it, right?
no subject
[He brings the ball back down, kind of shuffles around to LBX's side (the side that his eye is on, mercifully), and takes his position.]
The trick is to learn what it feels like when you've found the right balance of strength and lift, and memorize that feeling.
[For demonstration, he shoots; because he's standing a little more off-center than usual to accommodate for LBX, it arcs up and bounces lightly off the rim before rebounding back down in a miss.]
Not quite enough power on that one. My next time, I'll give it a little more.
no subject
[ we're learning how to be a jock, here. he mimes the motion that thancred made without a ball in his hands, pushing up and aiming and doing the little flip of the wrist in imitation. as he ball comes back, he holds his hands out for it. ]
Can I try?
no subject
[Ugh, movement. Still, he trot-shuffles after the ball in an almost flawless White Person Jogging Across A Street At The Crosswalk impression, and when he gets it he bounces it back in Lu Bixing's direction.
HOPEFULLY HE'S NOT SO MUCH OF A NERD THAT HE MISSES THE CATCH]
no subject
no i won't roll he can take the bounce catch pretty easily. okay. okay! he spins the ball in his hands. ]
Here goes nothing.
[ sisi ⭐ nut boxing by chris pratt Request: [1d20] Roll: [19] Result: 19
by some miracle
it goes in, rolling around the rim first before sliding through the net. he makes a completely startled noise, looking at his hands, and then grins like the sun. the sun came out. ] - Oh!! Thancred, you're a great teacher!!

[holy shit]
no subject
That had to be a fluke, right?
[ he watches the ball bounce afterwards... this is a strange moment in time ] I feel weirdly like my dad would be proud...? Should I try again?
no subject
Why not? Try to recall precisely how you did that — how it felt, how you moved through each bit of it. Try to reproduce it, and you'll likely land it again.
[He says, as he goes and retrieves the ball so LBX can take another shot.]
no subject
[ the insecurity week be real
anyway i rolled a 13 so this time it bounces off the rim. ]
Aw. Definitely a fluke.

[come on lbx one more diceroll for all the marbles you can do it]
