Hello, deadlings. Ready to work double-time?

You may have been wondering what you could possibly do in the aftermath of yesterday's beek. Your demons weren't entirely helpful, and it seems that there were no answers to be found. But on Saturday morning at 11am, you'll soon hear a sound coming from the dock. There's a large ferry waiting for you, and even if you resist you'll eventually find yourself compelled to climb aboard and set off on a short voyage. The islands around you look fairly blurry, but you don't go very far before you stop at a slab of land with two large buildings stationed. The Execution Bar is locked tight and you won't be able to head in that direction. Instead, once again, your feet navigate you to the building on the right as the door creaks open.

Inside is a bar. It's dimly lit in several places, but bright enough for you to see each other and navigate without running into the furniture. Tables and chairs are scattered around in front of the bar counter, and the floor is far less sticky than the bar on the other island. Stained glass windows decorate the walls depicting images of humanity's suffering, and concrete crosses and tombstones are gathered in the corners. The bar itself is fully stocked with all types of alcohol and mixers, along with an array of bar food to help keep your energy up.

At the head of the room lounging among the statues of saints and the Blessed Virgin are Bloody Mary, Cosmopolitan and Midori. With them is also a cut-out of Guy Fieri, dressed as a (sexy?) samurai with a bunch of cool flames cut out of construction paper glued to his back as he walks away from an explosion. He is also holding a sign that says "YOU CAN SOLVE IT!" However, there are now paper tears glued to his face as well. And he looks ready to fall apart.

The second, fresher Fieri is also still here. Why.

Above them hangs another hand-painted banner, sloppily thrown together.

You can try to leave, but the door to the bar has been locked. All of the windows are reinforced, and there isn't another way out. You've been called here for one reason...let the misery begin!

Hello, and welcome to your sixth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about this week's murders! Characters will have time to examine the bodies of the victim and explore relevant locations.

There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure to read this page carefully and that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST).

[ Directly across from the bar on the other side of the room sits a large sacrificial altar, bathed in a brighter light and easier to see than the rest of the room. Judging by the lump covered with a white sheet, there appears to be a body there.

[ good morning harrow. the first thing she'll notice is that there is, actually, a body. so that's cool. kon is here.

at a first glance, the one thing she'll notice is that he's dressed in his usual haori, with a sleeveless black tanktop and black capris. the front of his body is dirty, and there appear to be acid burn splatters visible on his face and his neck.

also, of course, there's the obviously missing right arm. what is harrow looking at? ]

[is this the outfit he was wearing at curfew?

she will take a look at the dirt on his body and clothes, first. what exactly is making it dirty? is there blood or dirt or what?]

[ we were not told otherwise so yes.

from the front glance, it looks like it's a lot of dirt. it's earthy. it's gritty. just...dirt. no blood. ]

[hmm, okay. is the dirt all over the front of his clothes or in a particular area? also is there anything besides dirt on the clothes, such as something that could have caused the acid marks?

she's going to check all the pockets of his clothes carefully and then she's going to take them off.]

[ it's dirt all over the front, and there doesn't appear to be anything else on the front. the acid marks also appear to be a little older, not entirely fresh. they're centered more on the left side of his face and his neck.

harrow can check the pockets and she will find a whole treasure trove of stuff:

-his dorm key
-kiseru pipe
-a golem
-a tool kit
-a lighter
-three corked test tubes of chemicals.

harrow takes off his clothes and she'll also then notice that before she even looks at the body further, the back of the clothing is shredded and bloody. ]

[cool. she will go turn all of this in for someone else to check. the acid burns are old? did i forget something from cyoa, or even older?

anyway obviously he's going to be injured on his back but before turning him over she's going to check him all over for any newer non-cyoa injuries or marks. she'll check his hand, torso, legs, face, neck, and hair, and will also open his eyes (if they're closed) and his mouth and check inside both.]

[ the acid burns are older, yes. harrow might recognize these as burns from the aftermath of cyoa even if she was not around at the time kon obtained these.

looking over the front, she'll see there are a lot of older injuries she's probably familiar with due to cyoa and such. there's the obviously bandaged right arm at the shoulder, various little fire burns over his torso and left hand and scrapes and cuts across his face, torso, arm and legs. there's an older scar on his left leg from a cut.

looking at his face, neck, hair and eyes/mouth, there is nothing unusual or new that stands out from what harrow may know. however, since she is looking at his hand specifically, she'll notice that his fingertips appear to be burnt. there also appears to be a scuff on his left palm. ]

[ah, ok. she'll lift up the hand and look closer at his fingerprints and the scuff. is it just his fingertips that are burnt, and if so, is it on the pad or at the top of the finger? by which i mean like...is it the type of burn you'd get by touching something or the type of burn you'd just by pulling your hand away from something hot.

what does the scuff look like?

also i forgot to check his shoes, so while we're at it, is there anything notable about his shoes and/or feet?]

[ harrow's checking the fingers, and it appears that the burns are on the pads. looking closer, she will also notice that the burn marks appear to have caused more damage in some places than others. there are some surface-level burns, but there are also some smaller, more damaging burns amongst them. they're a little bubbled and severe in comparison to the smoother burns.

the scuff appears to be kind of centered in the palm, like something scraped over the whole thing. it's a little more scuffed at the bottom and extends upward toward the fingers, but not quite reaching.

looking at his shoes, there is dirt on the soles! they also appear to be, uh, slightly sticky on the bottom...]

[Well, since we're all talking about dagger stabs now and he seems to be Captain Dagger Stabs™, Thancred's coming back over to recheck something on the body.

Specifically, using his expertise as a dagger-user, can he check for angle of entry on how Kon was stabbed? Whether the stabber appeared to be taller than him, shorter than him, about the same size?]

[ when thancred comes back to check and looks at the stab wounds on kon's back, he will notice that there doesn't appear to be any sort of angle of entry. rather, it looks more like the wounds are straight in and out rather than slightly angled up or slightly angled down to adjust for height. ]

[Interesting. And the edges are messy — is that messy like the blade was serrated/jagged, or messy like just lots of blood everywhere?]

[ messy like just lots of blood everywhere. they're not exactly clean stabs, but it's not from a blade that was serrated. since than is a dagger guy, he may get the sense that it's more the wounds were caused by movements that were not completely seamless. ]

[i'm alex i'm 17 and i can't read, "not completely seamless" meaning like the dagger went in, stayed in a minute, and then was yanked back out? like it got stuck in there a bit?]

[ more like the knife went in and was removed sloppily rather than a quick and clean in and out. ]

And just to confirm, do they all look like they were made by the same weapon? I saw different depths of entry were mentioned but they could all have reasonably been made by the same stabbing implement?]

[ despite the different depths of entry, yes! it does look like they could have all been made by the same weapon. ]

[Ah, yes, a "he ran into my knife, he ran into my knife ten times" situation. I think that's all I had for the moment, mods, thank you for indulging me!]

[ she can compare! it doesn't look exactly the same or anything, but she can see some similarities in some of the burns on kon's fingies. ]
