WEEK FIVE - TRIAL

Hello, deadlings. Ready to work double-time?
You may have been wondering what you could possibly do in the aftermath of yesterday's beek. Your demons weren't entirely helpful, and it seems that there were no answers to be found. But on Saturday morning at 11am, you'll soon hear a sound coming from the dock. There's a large ferry waiting for you, and even if you resist you'll eventually find yourself compelled to climb aboard and set off on a short voyage. The islands around you look fairly blurry, but you don't go very far before you stop at a slab of land with two large buildings stationed. The Execution Bar is locked tight and you won't be able to head in that direction. Instead, once again, your feet navigate you to the building on the right as the door creaks open.
Inside is a bar. It's dimly lit in several places, but bright enough for you to see each other and navigate without running into the furniture. Tables and chairs are scattered around in front of the bar counter, and the floor is far less sticky than the bar on the other island. Stained glass windows decorate the walls depicting images of humanity's suffering, and concrete crosses and tombstones are gathered in the corners. The bar itself is fully stocked with all types of alcohol and mixers, along with an array of bar food to help keep your energy up.
At the head of the room lounging among the statues of saints and the Blessed Virgin are Bloody Mary, Cosmopolitan and Midori. With them is also a cut-out of Guy Fieri, dressed as a (sexy?) samurai with a bunch of cool flames cut out of construction paper glued to his back as he walks away from an explosion. He is also holding a sign that says "YOU CAN SOLVE IT!" However, there are now paper tears glued to his face as well. And he looks ready to fall apart.
The second, fresher Fieri is also still here. Why.
Above them hangs another hand-painted banner, sloppily thrown together.
12pm - 9pm
Vote or suffer eternal damnation
You can try to leave, but the door to the bar has been locked. All of the windows are reinforced, and there isn't another way out. You've been called here for one reason...let the misery begin!
Hello, and welcome to your sixth trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will have the opportunity to discuss, investigate and theorize about this week's murders! Characters will have time to examine the bodies of the victim and explore relevant locations.
There will be a mod-tag break between 4pm EST/1pm PST to 5pm EST/2pm PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
Finally, we have a voting page for characters to vote on the culprit! Please be sure to read this page carefully and that your vote is in by the time trial finishes (9pm EST/6pm PST).
Good luck, and have fun!

but he has obtained spudger!
lbx may dig around more in the dirt if he likes, but he does not find anything more in there. enjoy your dirt. ]

and he'll just walk over and grab one of those baggies and rub the pink goo off on it. there, evidence collected.
looking at the smudge on the glass...]
Should we check the other side?
no subject
[ O: ] Did you find any test tubes over there, by any chance...? [ he'll show him the pieces of the one he collected with the L on it.
and then nods! and looks a little excited but mostly in the way of let's-go-discover-something excited. ]
Let's.
[ mods i have to ask did it look like an L from this side (so the side this smudge wasn't made on?) slash if they do go outside and look at the glass where the smudge was made, does it look like an L in reverse? or is it the other way around? i drew a picture of this on my window with a dry erase marker if you need a picture explanation. method rp
also can he now take a sample if they're allowed to go to the other side, ]
no subject
zelgadis and lbx head outside so that i can tell you what it's like from this new angle. the smudge on the glass now looks like an ⅃.
it's difficult to take a sample of a smudge on glass. but sure he can have. a couple specks of white powder. careful not to lose them. ]

[he'll grab another baggie from lbx so he can deposit these glass shards in there, too. and the cork with the "E" label.
and while they're out there, is there anything else they can notice? on the floor, or down the hallway?]
no subject
anyway he will look at those, and then pull out his personal device to tap away at his keyboard to fire off a quick text. ]
It might be ethanol, maybe - that could have caused the fire. [ kon use your molecular labels. also like just on the way out is there like, anything visible in the trees or any places where those were specifically fucked up besides being on fire???
help dw sucks ]

i should also mention that since lbx had to get pretty close to take that sample, he was able to see that there are fingerprints at both ends of the ⅃.
there is nothing new to see inside the biome from here. just that it's getting pretty smoky in there. ]
no subject
he'll let lbx examine the fingerprints more.]

re: fingerprints. can he put his fingertips near one of them just to compare the size? and if that own't work he'll get his rainbow dry erase marker and scribble all over his index finger and then make a print on a piece of paper from his notebook and hold it up to compare the size - it's less about the marks/perfection of getting ridges and whorls or whatever and just comparing the size of the print itself, if it makes sense. ]
I wish we had a fingerprinting kit... [ mumbled, forlornly, by a man who is already at his limit at 3 PM but this is just flavor complaining.
also by both ends do you mean like the vertical part and the horizontal part? thank you for giving me this gift ]
no subject
lbx may compare fingy prints! he leaves a nice tidy print, but these powder prints are a little smudgy so they're not perfect. but they are perhaps a bit bigger than his own? maybe the same size? definitely not smaller.
and yes, there is a fingerprint at the end of the tall upper bit, and another print at the end of the shorter horizontal bit. ]
no subject
I'll be nice and say it's the hand that wasn't touching mystery goo a few tags ago.]
Come on... Let's go back.
no subject
looks into the camera like this is the office and closes his phone after liking the message. ]
...yeah, seems like we better quickly. [ but he will go ahead and take a sample of the extra white powder! thank you! ] I think we're ready, Midori.
