superhell | WEEK SEVEN: ENDGAME 2

Rise and shine, little deadlings. It's the dawn of the final day. The oppressive heat of Hell seems to rise and fall around you, and no matter where you slept last night you'll find that all of the islands across this realm are buzzing with excitement. You all know what comes next. Take some time, gather yourselves, and maybe even have some breakfast. Pick out your best party outfits and brush up on your etiquette. At about eleven in the morning, all participants single-dead and double-dead will find themselves on the receiving end of a new DM.

party starts in an hour!! if you're not in line now, you're gonna miss the start!!

Better start making your way to those wrought-iron gates at the edge of the city. You can see it now, the giant mansion situated at the top of the volcano, but it's still a distance away. The line seems to crawl, slowly, and as you draw closer you'll see several demons and humans being let through and just as many being turned away. But you? Lucky you...as you approach, a flickering shadow three times your size looks you over before letting you through the gate. There's a bridge strung over a pool of lava, wobbling with your every step as your skin practically boils you alive.

But then...as you approach the front doors? The Mansion Welcomes You.

Come on in! You were invited, after all. The party's just getting started but there isn't a shortage of humans and demons already milling around the property as music blasts from all directions. Immediately as you enter, you'll see a large sign hanging in the foyer advertising today's drink-off. There's also a list of names under it:

What I want is that each one of us has the freedom to choose what we wanna do. Us and the demons, and Satan, too. If some of us wanna stay, sure... but anyone who wants to go back home to their own world or back with someone else to theirs should get to do that.

I'll be difficult if anyone proposes something that would mean it so that couldn't happen, but... I think we all were pretty much in agreement about what we wanted before this.

Right. Just gotta remember whatever we decide, you guys need to present it as a punishment so the citizens of hell buy it. Like we're being banished from hell, or forced to stay here because it's what we would hate the most.

Or sent back to life only due to Mephisto's benevolence, and you have to live out the rest of your life knowing that...

I think everyone watching the show saw me getting all uuuuuuugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh about it when that drink wore off for me, so it's probably believable?

You're right, because I'd hate that the benevolence of my actual murderer would be the reason why I went anywhere, even if I wanted to.

So, when we ask for it, we just sound really in the dumps about it?

Depends on the logistics, I think? Like... is our asking gonna be broadcast live to all the demons who live in hell? Or just the announcement of it?

Because if it's just the announcement, Mephisto can just be like, "Praise me! You all owe your lives to me! Go on, ask nicely and I'll give you what you want since I hold your fates in my hand! But you have to thank me first!" and we can all act real butthurt about it.

You know, play it up for the cameras.

Whatever happens will become public knowledge. And what Harrowhark and I proposed to Malibu and Blue is that by making it sound like we're being punished by the results, Satan will look good and gain a better public opinion. You know, make it easier for her to pass policies.

If the demons like what happens here tomorrow enough, then the next group who comes after us might get the same opportunities.

I think Satan wants to stay here, she talked about her plans for hell. But offering the choice of what she wants would be nice, even if she ultimately turns down leaving.

Yeah, it's like... stay or go, it's whatever. She can make that choice and so can anyone else. But none of us planned to end up here, and - she and the demons might not have, either? They've done the best they can and carved out places for themselves here, but if there's somewhere else they'd rather be... it'd be nice if they could at least have the chance to. 'Specially since how things are working for us now is different from how it was for people before us.

...Blue did tell me that he and Malibu tried the drinking party before, but they only got one invite so they decided not to do it.
